This early 20th-century house has been transformed into a multi-functional space divided into three distinct areas. On the ground floor, a café welcomes visitors, while the second floor houses a tasting restaurant, and the terrace serves as a venue for social events. The café also features a basement, designed with minimalist aesthetics to highlight the building’s inherent beauty. Natural wood structures, quarry access points, and prominent cast iron columns are preserved and emphasized.
The ceiling showcases natural wood with tile accents to support the upper level, utilizing materials that complement rather than overshadow the building’s original features. The second level tasting restaurant draws inspiration from the diverse landscapes and cultural heritage of Chihuahua state. Each room reflects elements of the desert, mountains, leatherworking traditions, indigenous cultures, and the heart of the city, with a reception area inspired by old Chihuahua.
Access to the terrace, located beyond the bathrooms, is through a plant-filled courtyard. The terrace itself features a pergola and safety railing adorned with planters, designed to withstand the desert climate’s extremes. Materials such as adobe, concrete, steel, and ocotillo are chosen for their suitability to both hot and cold temperatures, creating a harmonious and functional outdoor space.
